X-Setup is an extremely powerful program, which, if used incorrectly, could cause PERMANENT DAMAGE to your computer. PLEASE read this page before you make any changes to your system.
1. A lot of X-Setup's functions are aimed only at advanced users who know what they are doing. If you feel uncomfortable about using a plug-in, don't use it, and, if you like, you can delete it. Our Support Team will be happy to explain options to you if you are unsure about anything.
2. Make sure you have a recent backup of all of your system and personal files, which you can restore if things go wrong. Windows 98 and Me automatically back-up your registry each day - to restore this go to Start -> Run and type "scanreg /restore" (Windows 98 users must restart in MS-DOS mode).
3. Configure X-Setup's logfile to record your actions in detail. This records every system change X-Setup has made, and can be very helpful if you need to retrace your steps. To do this, open X-Setup's Options dialog, click the Logfile tab and select Level 2. You will need to close X-Setup and then open it again for the change to take effect. To view the logfile, click on the Extra menu in the Default UI, and choose "View Logfile...".
In case that you have any problems with X-Setup, or the changes you made with it, see the Support topic inside this help for details instructions what you can do to resolve the problem.
